Terms of Service

Last updated 14 October 2026

These terms cover the Flux application for macOS, this website and the account and update services behind them (together, "Flux"), provided by Emre Bozkurt ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Flux you agree to them. If you do not, do not use Flux.

1. What Flux is

Flux is a desktop application that reads logs from sources you configure — Graylog, Elasticsearch through Kibana, or files and containers on your Mac — and helps you search, explain and trace them. It runs on your Mac and talks to your sources directly. We do not host, store or process your logs.

2. Your account

Signing in is required. You must give a working email address or sign in with a Google or GitHub account that is yours, and keep access to it safe. You are responsible for what is done through your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, abuses the services, or has been inactive for a long time; you can ask us to delete yours at any time.

3. Your sources and their credentials

You connect Flux to systems you are allowed to read from. The tokens and API keys you enter stay on your Mac and are your responsibility to protect, as the Privacy Policy describes. Make sure you have the right to read the logs you point Flux at; what they contain is between you and the people who operate those systems.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use Flux or its services to:

5. Licence

Flux's source code is published under the Apache License 2.0, and the application we distribute is provided under the same terms. The name "Flux", its logo and this website's design are not covered by that licence; please do not present something else as Flux. The account and update services are provided to you under these terms for use with Flux, not for reuse in other products.

6. Updates and changes

Flux checks for updates and installs them. We may change or discontinue features, and we may retire old versions by requiring an update before they can be used again — we do this when an old version is no longer safe or compatible. We may change these terms; the current version is always at this address, with its date. Continuing to use Flux after a change means you accept it.

7. No warranty

Flux is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Logs are evidence; Flux helps you read them, but you remain responsible for the decisions you make from them.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, revenue or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use Flux. Our total liability for any claim relating to Flux is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim — which, for a free product, is nothing.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in them takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in.
