# Where your data lives

> What stays on your Mac, what syncs, and what reaches whom.

| what | where | syncs? |
| - | - | - |
| Connections | `connections.json` in Flux's settings folder | never |
| Their tokens and API keys | your login keychain, under the name Flux | never |
| Projects, saved queries, history | the settings folder, or a workspace's `.flux` | never |
| Streams and endpoints already seen | the cache folder | never |
| Window layout, open tabs | `workspace.json`, this Mac only | never |
| Appearance, keymap, console and grid settings | your account | yes |

Flux talks to your sources from your Mac; nothing you read is sent anywhere. It checks our update server for new versions at launch and hourly. The [Privacy Policy](https://flux.emreb.dev/privacy) has the full picture.

**Help › Show Settings Folder in Finder** opens the folder; deleting it removes everything Flux kept on this Mac.
